I love music.

I had to cut Marry-Go and Annie's mane off. :'( I can cut Marry-Go's off....she is always getting into sticky bushes and messing it up. She had this mutilcolored kitty cat that she was very mean to. One day when we opened our door there was that cat. My mom took him. We named him scooter.
Scooter has moved 3 times, lost 2 cat buddies, and gained 4. He has been in countless numbers of fights and killed millions of mice. Last year he started to lose his sight, but he kept on fighting other cats. Then he went blind and was still active.
Monday night I came home from dance class to find out my beloved cat had passed away in our back yard while I was away. His death has been the hardest animal death in my life. I used the rest of the beads I used on my sister's necklace, I just have some black left.

When I showed my grandmother my beads she was shocked. The first thing she pulled out was the hand I bought for her necklace. I told her that I was using it for a necklace I was going to make my mom. She told me I should try and sell my things...I don't think my things are good enough to sell.

Bug bites and dog necklace

I just made a dog necklace for my doggie. I used the left over beads from my B-day necklace and put purse and shoe charm on it. I'll have to take a picture of it and post it. He looks super cute....and very gay. Ok so my poodle is a crossdresser....I don't care, I'm very proud of him!

As I was sitting there making my necklace a bug started to bite my leg. I stayed up looking at them.

The first one is called 'Beadwork.' It has a lot of pretty stuff inside. Their not much on how to's but it gave me tons of new ideas!! Now I don't know what I want to do anymore, hahaha.

The second one is call ' Step by Step Jewelry, Gifts for the Holidays.' I don't like the ideas in this one as much but I'm not big on holiday jewerly. The how to's in this book is wonderful. They taught me how to make a wrapped loop, which I was wanting to know how to do. With the new tips I learned from this magazine my jewelry will improve.

In other news: my horse, Marry-Go, jumped over the fence and got stuck in the other field. Marry-Go has a partner named Annie. Poor Annie was worried about Marry-Go. When Marry-Go got back to Annie, Annie was mad at her and would ran away from her. Haha they are so funny together. The other one can't live without the other one but they fight all the time.

I'm going over to my grandparents' house today, I have to get my car fixed and they live near the place I get it worked on. I might stay the night there, I need to get out of the house for a bit. My grandmother is a very artsy lady, I can't wait to see what all she has at her house. Everytime I go over there I spend most of my time looking at her stuff. We will look for hours and hours. Then the next day we will look at the same things for hours and hours.

Here at work

So, I'm posting during work...well I work for my parents. My father is a doctor and I work at his office every wedesday. I'm pretty sure my mom is ok with it. She post on her knitting blog during work also.
It has finally happened...the moment we all have been waiting for...and I'm not talking about half off on all Swarovski Crystal. PICTURES OF SURI CRUISE!! Vanity Fair gave Suri her very first photo shoot. Suri is a very old looking baby, I am sure she is going to be breath taking. Now all dateless women can go out and stare at the pictures of Suri Cruise. Hopefully the media will be happy and find a new topic to talk about. Like, Tony Blair leaving office, fighting in Isreal, or heck they could even talk about the up coming election!!!
http://www.vanityfair.com/magazine/pressroom/
I'm about to start making a necklace for my grandmother. I bought a wooden hand and red jasper beads. All I need now is hemp thread and I can get started on it. I'm not sure the pattern I want to do. My grandmother has almost an earthy aura about her. I saw the hand in the bead store and it reminded me of her. I hope she likes it. I'm giving it to her for X-mas.

Welcome!!

Well this is my first post!! So, here is a little about me. My name is Katy and I just turned 18 6 days ago. On my 18th birthday everyone kept asking me if I felt 18, the truth is I still feel 15. I live in a ubber small town in Tn, Pop 1200. As much as I cuss my small town I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. It's beautiful and I never have to worry about being out alone at night.
I have a one track mind, I can only work on one project at a time. A few years ago my mother and I started to knit...that lasted 2 months (the classes only lasted 2 months.) I did make a few things. About 100 wash cloths, 2 cell phone holders, and fingerless mits. Oh yea...how could I forget about my scarf!!! It fell apart the first time I wore it.
After my knitting phase, I started to draw, then paint, and finally color. Coloring was the longest hobby I ever had. It lasted a whole 6 months!! Then I got sick of coloring puppies and kitties.
Now I have started to make jewelry. I think this one might stick. It started when I was in Athens, Ga. My mom and I went into a small bead shop while my sister, Mary, was at Gym Dog Camp. I bought red and black glass beads and a clear glass heart (UGA colors.)

I know it's not that great...but it was the very first thing I ever made.
After Ga. I went out to wal-mart and bought blue and white seed beads, these are Mary's team colors. I made a simple choker and bracelet.

After this project I found out about crimp beads!!! I made a blue necklace and bracelet set to wear on my b-day. I wore it with a lovely black dress.

For my B-day my sister gave me a glass bead set, a box, and wires. He went to a small catholic college in the Gulf. He gave me jog pants from the college bookstore and so that Mary wouldn't feel left out he brought back some seashells. I made Mary a necklace with them. I used black and red beads (UGA colors) that I bought from a bead shop I just found. I effing love this bead shop.
